Start here

Three ways in, and they are not the same

What happens next depends on where you are standing right now. Pick the one that describes you.

Already here on a permit

You are not stuck. Permit holders can move employer, and we handle the transfer so there is no gap in your status and nothing for you to file. Confidential from the first call, and no obligation at any point.

How a transfer works

Applying from outside Ireland or the UK

We handle the employment permit, the visa, the flight, the accommodation and the paperwork. You are trade tested before you travel, so you land in a job that matches what you can actually do.

What the move involves

Irish or UK citizen

Apply the same as anybody else, and you are very much encouraged to. Our employers want reliable skilled people from any background, and local candidates get the same access to the well paid roles.

How we work with candidates

Open right now

Current roles

If nothing here fits, send your CV anyway. Roles come in weekly and we will come back to you when one matches. We reply to candidates within a week.

If you are already here

Moving employer on a permit, handled end to end

No gaps in your status, no risk to your right to remain, and nothing for you to file. You focus on the new job and we handle the paperwork.

What we promise

How it works for you

  • Confidential from the first call. We will not contact your current employer
  • No obligation. You can stop at any point, and plenty of people do
  • Apply first. Only hand in your notice once you have a confirmed offer in writing
  • The timing is managed carefully so there is no gap in your right to work
The honest bit

What we will not guess at

  • Exactly when you can move, and on what conditions, depends on your permit type and how long you have been in the role
  • Those rules change, so we confirm your specific position in writing before you do anything
  • If something about your situation makes a move harder, you will hear that from us first

The trade test

What happens before you are put forward

A practical test with a qualified assessor, in a real workshop, before any employer sees your CV. These are our own workshops, not stock photographs. Somebody who lands in a job they cannot do is worse off than somebody who was told the truth early.

What happens on the day, step by step

Why people move

What actually changes

These are the improvements the people we have placed report on the role they left. Not a promise, and it will not all apply to every job, but it is the pattern.

  • Significant pay increases on the previous role
  • Paid overtime at proper rates
  • Subsistence and travel allowances where they apply
  • Pension contributions and bike to work scheme access
  • Clear progression and real training
  • Employers who communicate and value their workers

Step by step

How it works

Four steps, and nobody asks you for money at any of them.

1

Get in touch

Send your CV or ring us. A confidential conversation about what you are looking for and what you bring to the table. No fee and no obligation.

2

We match you

We shortlist roles that fit your skills, your experience, where you want to be and what you need to earn. No pressure and no rushed decisions.

3

We handle the paperwork

A permit transfer, a new visa application or relocation logistics. Whichever it is, we take care of it and we keep you told.

4

You start the job

You arrive, you start work, and we stay in touch to make sure it is going the way it was supposed to.

Why candidates choose us

Four things we hold to

Honest

We will say so

If a role is not right for you, you will hear that from us. Putting somebody into a job they will leave in three months helps nobody.

Experienced

We know the system

The permit routes, the employers and the pitfalls. We have done this enough times to know where it goes wrong.

On your side

You are not a number

We build long term relationships with the people we place, which is why so many of them send us their friends.

Straight

Better pay, better employers

Better conditions and better employers, or there was no point moving. That is the whole job.

Who we work for

Straight answers

Questions candidates ask

Do I have to pay any fees to Sama Talent Group?

No. Our service is completely free to candidates, at every stage. We are paid by the employers who hire you. If any agency asks you for money, that is the moment to walk away.

Is Sama Talent Group a legitimate agency?

Yes. Irish employment agency licence EA 5649, issued by the Workplace Relations Commission and valid to May 2027. You can check it yourself before you deal with us.

How is my personal information handled?

Every enquiry is treated in confidence. Your CV and your details are only shared with an employer once you have told us to.

Will my current employer find out I am looking?

No. Every conversation with us is confidential and we will not contact your current employer.

I am on a work permit tied to my employer. Can I actually move?

Yes, permit holders can change employer. Exactly when you can move and on what conditions depends on your permit type and how long you have been in the role, and the rules change, so we confirm your specific position in writing before you do anything.

How long does a permit transfer take?

In our experience most transfers run a few weeks from application to approval, but government processing times move and we would rather give you the honest range for your case than a number that sounds good.

Will there be a gap in my legal status during a transfer?

Managed properly, no. The timing is handled so there is no gap in your right to work or remain, and we will say so if anything about your situation makes that harder.

Do I need to give notice before applying?

No. Apply first, see what is actually available, and hand in your notice only once you have a confirmed offer in writing.

I am currently on minimum wage. Can you really get me more?

In most cases yes. We regularly move people off minimum wage into roles with substantially better pay, proper conditions and employers who treat them properly.

Which countries do you recruit from?

The Philippines, South Africa, Bangladesh, Colombia, India, Nepal and the UAE, alongside Ireland and the UK.

Do I need to already have a visa?

No. If the role needs a permit or a visa, we manage the application. You are not expected to arrive with one.

What does the relocation package include?

It varies by employer and role, but it typically covers the flight, initial accommodation, your PPSN or NI number, a bank account and your induction. What is covered in your case is confirmed in writing before you accept.

What English level do I need?

It depends on the role. Most trade and driving roles need functional working English. We assess you at the start and tell you where you stand, so it is not a surprise at the end.

Will I be supported once I arrive?

Yes. We do not drop people at the airport and disappear. You have a point of contact at Sama and we check in with you after you start.

My trade is not on your list. Should I still apply?

Yes. The employer network grows constantly. Send your CV and we will tell you honestly whether we have anything.

What if a role is not right for me?

You are never obliged to accept anything we put in front of you. If it is not the right fit we keep looking.
