What you will be doing
- Service, repair and rebuild commercial trailers
- Brake, suspension, axle and running gear work
- Prepare units for CVRT or MOT and rectify failures
- Electrical and air line fault finding
- Welding and fabrication repairs as required
- General servicing and inspections on a variety of trailers
- Prepare trailers for PSV testing
- Brake testing on all trailers
- Complete the relevant paperwork
- Liaise with the team on progress and any delays
What you need
- Time served trailer fitter or HGV mechanic
- Confident on air brake systems and running gear
- Welding to a working standard
- Own hand tools
- Proven mechanical and technical experience in trailer repair and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of HGV trailers
- Full clean driving licence
- HGV licence desirable but not essential
