About the role
Preparing vehicles for paint in a busy bodyshop, reporting to the garage manager.
What you will be doing
- Repair damaged panels and bodywork
- Filling, sanding, prep, prime and paint
- Colour matching and finishing
- Remove and refit body accessories and trim
- Inspect vehicles and assess preparation needed
- Clean and degrease surfaces
- Sand and smooth, fill dents and scratches
- Mask to prevent overspray
- Strip and refit trim, bumpers and panels
- Polish and finish after paint
What you need
- Automotive body repair background, panel beating or spray painting
- Eye for finish and colour match
- Own hand tools
- Previous experience in vehicle preparation or automotive repair
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and materials
- Basic mechanical skills an advantage
