About the role
Assembling, bolting and aligning structural modular frames from engineering drawings.
What you will be doing
- Install, maintain and repair plant, pumps, conveyors and drives
- Planned maintenance and breakdown response
- Alignment, bearings, seals and couplings
- Accurate maintenance records
- Bolt, rivet and weld structural steel sections to build heavy-duty module frames
- Install mechanical brackets, supports and sub-assemblies
- Use precision measuring tools to keep frames square, level and true
- Work to fabrication drawings and welding geometric tolerances
What you need
- Mechanical fitting qualification or time served experience
- Confident on rotating equipment
- Own hand tools
- Proven experience in mechanical fitting, structural steel assembly or heavy fabrication
- Able to read complex engineering drawings
- Proficient with torque wrenches, grinders, drills and overhead cranes or hoists
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and a valid CSCS card
