About the role
Operating CNC laser engraving and cutting machines in a precision production environment.
What you will be doing
- Set and operate CNC turning or milling machines
- Work from engineering drawings to tolerance
- First off inspection and in process checks
- Tooling changes and basic programme edits
- Operate CNC laser engraving and cutting machines
- Select and set up lenses for material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters
- Set the stop location and adjust the beam focal point
- Create and edit laser cut files from CAD drawings using Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator
- Lay out and array parts for optimal speed and yield
- Monitor chiller and process gas levels
- Carry out preventative maintenance and dimensional inspections
What you need
- Machining qualification or time served experience
- Able to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment
- Setting experience is a strong advantage
- Experience operating CNC laser cutting or engraving machines
- Able to work from work instructions and standard operating procedures with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail
