Ireland issued 1,529 employment permits in July 2021, up 17% on June and up 9% on July 2020.

That brings the year to 8,152 permits, down 22% on the same point in 2020.

407 employers received at least one permit in the month, 50 of them for the first time.

University Hospital Limerick took the most, with 72.
