About the role
Maintaining a diverse fleet of HGVs and heavy plant: walking floor and tipping trailers, hook and skip loaders, shredders, crushers and excavators.
What you will be doing
- Service, diagnose and repair HGVs, trailers and plant
- Engine, transmission, brake and hydraulic work
- Prepare vehicles for CVRT or MOT and rectify failures
- Electrical and diagnostic fault finding
- Accurate job records and reporting
- Prepare HGVs and trailers for MOT
- Routine servicing and six week inspections
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
- Order parts and manage repairs
- Attend roadside breakdowns when required
What you need
- Time served HGV or plant mechanic
- Confident on air brake systems and hydraulics
- Diagnostic experience on modern commercial vehicles
- Own hand tools
- Full driving licence. An HGV licence is an advantage
- Proven experience on HGVs and heavy plant
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Experience with diagnostic tools
- HGV licence desirable but not essential
