  • A Certificate of Sponsorship from that employer describing the role.
  • A job on the Home Office list of eligible occupations, paid at least the minimum salary for that role and route.
  • English: you must be able to speak, read, write and understand English, and usually prove it when you apply. Skilled Worker applicants are assessed at CEFR level B2, in effect from 8 January 2026.
  • Your passport, your qualifications and references, and whatever checks the employer and the Home Office ask for in your case.
