What is required
What a Skilled Worker visa needs
- A confirmed job offer from a UK employer that holds a Home Office sponsor licence. The employers in this directory all hold one.
- A Certificate of Sponsorship from that employer describing the role.
- A job on the Home Office list of eligible occupations, paid at least the minimum salary for that role and route.
- English: you must be able to speak, read, write and understand English, and usually prove it when you apply. Skilled Worker applicants are assessed at CEFR level B2, in effect from 8 January 2026.
- Your passport, your qualifications and references, and whatever checks the employer and the Home Office ask for in your case.
Summarised from GOV.UK: Skilled Worker visa, checked 9 September 2026. The rules change, so the official page is the one that counts, and we confirm the route in writing for every offer.
How it goes
The process, start to finish
1
Send your CV
A recruiter goes through your experience, your licences and where you want to work. No fee, no obligation, and you can stop at any point.
2
Interview and trade test
You meet the employer, in person or by video, then a practical test with a qualified assessor so you land in a job that matches what you can do.
3
Offer and paperwork
A written offer with the salary and hours in it, before anything else happens. Then the medical and the background checks.
4
Sponsorship and visa
The employer assigns your Certificate of Sponsorship and we handle the visa application with you.
5
You land
Flight, accommodation, NI number, bank account and phone sorted, and somebody checking in with you after you arrive.

New sponsors in Lerwick, in your inbox
Every week we check the Home Office register. When a new organisation in Lerwick gets a licence to sponsor workers, you hear about it first, with a link to who they are and how to approach them.
For candidates
Looking for a UK employer that sponsors?
A licence means they can sponsor, not that they are hiring today. The roles we have open right now are on the live jobs page, and you never pay us anything.
For employers
On this list, or hiring from overseas too?
Talk to us the next time you recruit. We supply trade tested candidates, can organise a trip to see them tested at our centres, and handle the paperwork with you. No retainer.
- No retainer. Nothing to sign until you have met people.
- Trade tested before you see them, not after.
- Nothing is ever charged to the candidate.
