About the role

MIG and TIG welding, plating and fabrication to engineering drawings, working to tight tolerances in a busy fabrication shop.

What you will be doing

• MIG and TIG welding on fillet and butt welds to coded standard
• Plating and fabrication work built from engineering drawings
• Reading and interpreting complex drawings and working within tight tolerances
• Marking out, cutting, grinding and preparing material before welding
• Checking your own work for dimensional accuracy and weld quality
• Maintaining equipment and following set procedures
• Working to engineering health and safety practices at all times

What you need

• Solid background in MIG and TIG welding, plating and fabrication
• Coded to BS EN ISO 9606-1, fillet and butt weld
• Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
• Strong knowledge of engineering health and safety practices and equipment maintenance
• Self motivated, target driven and a good communicator
• Good standard of English, written and spoken
