About the role

Running robotic MIG welding cells in a busy engineering manufacturing plant, loading jigs, monitoring weld quality and keeping the cells producing across the shift.

What you will be doing

• Loading and unloading parts in robotic welding cells and fixtures
• Starting, monitoring and stopping robot weld programmes safely
• Checking weld quality and part dimensions, and manually touching up welds where needed
• Changing consumables such as tips, nozzles and wire, and keeping torches clean
• Making basic adjustments and escalating program or equipment faults to the setter or supervisor
• Recording output and quality checks accurately
• Working to the company health and safety procedures and cell safety rules at all times

What you need

• Experience operating robotic or automated welding cells, or a strong manual MIG welding background with a willingness to learn robot operation
• Able to read engineering drawings and judge weld quality
• Careful, reliable and safety minded around automated equipment
• Comfortable working a shift pattern
• Good standard of English, written and spoken

Experience with robot teach pendants or offline programming is an advantage but not essential. Training on the company's own cells is provided.
