About the role

Service, diagnostics and repair on heavy goods vehicles and trailers in a busy commercial vehicle workshop, covering scheduled maintenance, CVRT preparation and breakdown work.

What you will be doing

  • Servicing and repairing heavy goods vehicles across engines, braking, transmission, suspension and electrical systems
  • Fault diagnosis and decoding of fault codes to pinpoint engine and system issues
  • Preparing vehicles and trailers for CVRT and carrying out safety checks
  • Trailer repair work including braking, suspension, lighting and wiring
  • Preventive maintenance to schedule, keeping fleet downtime to a minimum
  • Roadside assistance and breakdown attendance when required
  • Completing job cards, work orders and service records accurately
  • Working to workshop health and safety standards at all times

What you need

  • Time served or trade tested HGV mechanic, diesel technician or heavy vehicle fitter
  • Experience across the main commercial brands, such as DAF, Scania, MAN, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz
  • Confident diagnosing faults and working from technical information rather than guesswork
  • Comfortable working on both rigid vehicles and trailers
  • Full driving licence. HGV licence is an advantage but not essential
  • Good standard of English, written and spoken

CVRT preparation experience and a trailer background are both an advantage. Candidates trade tested overseas are welcome to apply.
