What a licence means
They can sponsor. That is all it says.
A sponsor licence lets an organisation assign a Certificate of Sponsorship to a worker on the routes it covers. It does not mean Ofsted is hiring from abroad this month, only that it can, and has been checked by the Home Office to do so.
How to approach them
Lead with the role, not the visa
Apply through the careers page or the job boards with a UK-style CV, say early that you would need sponsorship, and make the skill and the years the first thing they read.
The register
The register lists Ofsted in London as a licensed sponsor on Skilled Worker, an entry that goes back to at least 2026. Rating on the current register: Worker (A rating).
At Companies House the business is Ofsted Limited (company number 11519800), a private limited company incorporated in 2018, 8 years ago. The registered office is at 59 Hepleswell Two Mile Ash, Milton Keynes, MK8 8LU, MK8 8LU. Its filed activity puts it in education.
What the licence tells a candidate is that the door is not locked. Whether it is open this month is a question for Ofsted's own careers page and the job boards, and the answer changes with the season and the order book.
