What a licence means

The slow part is done

Getting a licence takes an application, checks and a fee, and most employers never bother. Magdalen has, which means when a role qualifies the certificate can be assigned without months of preparation.

How to approach them

Ask the question early

Sponsorship is a yes or no per role. Ask in the first message whether the vacancy qualifies for a Certificate of Sponsorship; it saves everyone a wasted interview and marks you as someone who knows the system.

The register

The register lists Magdalen in Norwich as a licensed sponsor on Skilled Worker, an entry that goes back to at least 2026. Rating on the current register: Worker (A rating).

Companies House lists it as Magdalen Limited, number FC019868, incorporated 1996: 30 years of filings behind the name. Registered office: First Names House, Victoria Road, Douglas, IM2 4DF, IM2 4DF. Its filed activity puts it in mining and quarrying.

What the licence tells a candidate is that the door is not locked. Whether it is open this month is a question for Magdalen's own careers page and the job boards, and the answer changes with the season and the order book.
