What a licence means
They can sponsor. That is all it says.
A sponsor licence lets an organisation assign a Certificate of Sponsorship to a worker on the routes it covers. It does not mean Gloucester Specsavers Limited is hiring from abroad this month, only that it can, and has been checked by the Home Office to do so.
How to approach them
Make the certificate easy
The employer assigns the certificate; you supply what it needs. Certificates, references, your English level and a clear licence position, all ready, is what makes Gloucester Specsavers Limited say yes to the sponsored candidate over the unsponsored one.
The register
The register lists Gloucester Specsavers Limited in Gloucester as a licensed sponsor on Skilled Worker, an entry that goes back to at least 2026. Its rating on the register is Worker (A rating).
Companies House lists it as Gloucester Specsavers Limited, number 01969512, incorporated 1985: 40 years of filings behind the name. The registered office is at Forum 6, Parkway, Solent Business Park Whiteley, Fareham, PO15 7PA, PO15 7PA. By its SIC codes the business is in retail. It has traded under other names before, including Visionplus (gloucester) Limited, Novotix Limited.
A licence says an organisation may sponsor; it does not say it is hiring today. The way to find out is the same as for any employer: the careers page, the job boards, and a direct approach with a UK-style CV that says early that sponsorship would be needed.
