Read the figures

Routine, not exceptional

The count is not spectacular and does not need to be: it shows an employer that uses the permit route as one normal channel among several, year after year.

How to approach them

Time it to the rhythm

This year St. Joseph's Foundation CLG's permits peaked in March. Hiring rounds tend to repeat, so an application a couple of months ahead of that lands when the decision is being made.

The record

St. Joseph's Foundation CLG hires from outside the EEA as a matter of routine: 28 employment permits so far in 2026, ranking 165th of the 7,732 Irish employers that have taken one this year.

Since 2011 the count stands at 41 permits across 7 years. The high point was 2026, with 28. The direction over the last three full years is upward, which usually means a growing operation or a shift towards recruiting abroad by design.

Permits were issued to St. Joseph's Foundation CLG in 7 of the 9 months published so far this year, the rhythm of an employer with an ongoing hiring programme. March was the busiest month with 13.

The CRO lists it as St. Joseph's Foundation, number 57249, a clg-company limited by guarantee (licenced company) on the register since 1976. Its registered office is at Baker's Road, Charleville, Cork, Ireland.

For candidates

What you need to work here

  • A job offer and a contract of employment signed by you and the employer before anything is submitted. Applications must reach the Department at least 12 weeks before the start date.
  • The right permit for the job. Most trades and driving roles go through a General Employment Permit, which is issued for 2 years and can be renewed. Roles on the Critical Skills list use a Critical Skills Employment Permit.
  • Pay at or above the minimum for the permit. For a General Employment Permit the Department currently lists it as generally EUR 36,605 a year, with lower figures for meat processing, horticulture, healthcare assistants and home support. Check the official figure for your role before you rely on it.
