What the numbers say

Busiest full year: 2023 with 26 permits. First year on record: 2016.
Read the figures
Routine, not exceptional
The count is not spectacular and does not need to be: it shows an employer that uses the permit route as one normal channel among several, year after year.
How to approach them
Be the easy application
Employers that hire from abroad remember the candidates who arrived with documents in order: certificates, references, a clear licence position. Be that candidate and the permit is the employer's problem, not yours.
The record
18 permits in 2026 put SGNH Ltd comfortably inside the group of Irish employers who use the permit system every year, at 259th of 7,732.
SGNH Ltd first shows up in the figures in 2016, and across 9 years it has been issued 80 employment permits in all, peaking at 26 in 2023. Use has fallen over the last three full years, which can mean the roles were filled, the need passed, or hiring moved elsewhere.
Month by month, SGNH Ltd has taken permits in 7 of the 9 months on record for 2026. That is continuous hiring, not a one-off, with March the peak at 9.

What you need to work here
- A job offer and a contract of employment signed by you and the employer before anything is submitted. Applications must reach the Department at least 12 weeks before the start date.
- The right permit for the job. Most trades and driving roles go through a General Employment Permit, which is issued for 2 years and can be renewed. Roles on the Critical Skills list use a Critical Skills Employment Permit.
- Pay at or above the minimum for the permit. For a General Employment Permit the Department currently lists it as generally EUR 36,605 a year, with lower figures for meat processing, horticulture, healthcare assistants and home support. Check the official figure for your role before you rely on it.
