Check your CV the way an Irish or UK employer reads it

Paste the text of your CV below, or drop in the Word file. In a few seconds you get a score and a list of what to fix, in order. It looks for the things a hiring manager in a yard or a workshop looks for, and nothing you paste is kept or sent anywhere.

Your CV

Paste it, or drop in the file

Word (.docx) or plain text. A PDF cannot be read here: open it, select all, copy, and paste the text instead.

Nothing you paste is stored, sent to us, or sent to anyone else. The check runs and the text is discarded.

What it checks

The things a yard manager notices in the first thirty seconds

  • Your licence category, written the way it is written here: C, C+E, D, B.
  • The certificates named, with the body that issued them.
  • Months on your dates, most recent job first, and no gaps you have not explained.
  • The vehicles, machines and materials you have worked on, by name.
  • A phone number that can be rung from here, and an email you check.
  • Two pages. No photo, no date of birth, no marital status, no salary: employers here do not want them and some will bin a CV that has them.

What it is not

An opinion, not a rule

These are our rules of thumb from putting tradespeople in front of Irish and UK employers. They are not the law and no employer is bound by them. A CV can score badly here and still get you the job; it is just harder.

If you would rather we did it: register, attach the CV, and if your trade is one we place and a role fits, we format it ourselves before it goes to the employer. Nothing charged, ever.
