The move
What actually happens, start to finish
Add it up and it is months rather than weeks. Anybody promising you a start date in a fortnight is guessing, or worse.

A recruiter goes through your experience, your licences and where you want to work. No fee and no obligation, and you can stop at any point.

You meet the employer, in person or by video. Then a practical test with a qualified assessor, so you land in a job that matches what you can do.

A written offer with the salary and the hours in it, before anything else happens. Then the medical and the background checks.

The long stage, and the one nobody controls. Ireland runs 8 to 22 weeks on a General Employment Permit and 6 to 18 on Critical Skills. The UK runs 10 to 14 weeks where the employer already holds a licence.

Protect yourself
How to tell a good agency from a bad one
Plenty of people have been burned before they get to us. This is what to watch for, and it applies whether you use us or somebody else.
Walk away if
- They ask you for money at any stage
- They want a processing fee, a registration fee, or payment for training
- They want to hold your original passport
- They will not name the employer or show you the contract
- You are promised a job with no interview and no trade test
- The salary or the job changes after you have paid
What it should look like
- A licence number you can check for yourself. Ours is EA 5649
- The employer named up front, before you commit to anything
- A written contract with the salary and the hours in it
- An interview, and a practical trade test
- Every cost explained in writing before anything happens
- Somebody on the phone after you arrive, not just until you sign
Before you start
The three things that hold applications up
We look at all three at the beginning rather than at the end.
English
Assessed at the start, not at the end
UK Skilled Worker applicants must reach CEFR level B2, in effect from 8 January 2026. We assess you at the beginning and give you four weeks of assessor support to get there, so it does not become a problem at the last minute.
Drivers
Licence conversion, by country
South African licences exchange for an Irish licence without a retest. Filipino drivers sit the Irish test, which we arrange and support. HGV drivers complete the Driver CPC after employment starts. We confirm the exact route for your licence at the outset, so you know when you can legally drive.
Documents
What we will ask you for
Passport, qualifications, references, a medical and background checks. Everything is explained to you in writing beforehand, and nothing is charged to you for any of it.

Do I pay anything, ever?
No. Not at any stage. Not to apply, not to be placed, and not for a visa, documents, training or registration. Employers pay us. If any agency asks you for money, that is the moment to walk away.
Will you sponsor my visa?
For on-site roles in Ireland and the UK, yes. Which permit route applies depends on the specific role, the salary and the rules as they currently stand, and those change, so we confirm the route in writing for your offer before you accept anything.
What is covered when I move?
The employer typically covers the flight, accommodation, your PPSN or NI number, a bank account, a phone and your induction. What is covered in your case is confirmed in writing before you accept.
Can I bring my family?
That depends on the permit route, the salary and how long you have been in the job. The rules differ between Ireland and the UK and they change regularly, so we give you guidance specific to your offer rather than a general answer.
Do I have to do a trade test?
Yes. A real practical test with a qualified assessor. It protects you as much as the employer, because landing in a job you cannot do is worse for you than not getting it.
What if I am already working abroad?
That is fine and it is often faster. Plenty of the people we place are Filipino tradespeople already working in the Gulf. Just tell us where you are currently living when you apply.
What if I am already in Ireland or the UK on a permit?
Also fine. Tell us your current permit and employer when you apply and we will go through what moving would involve for you specifically.
