Location  Oldcastle, Co. Meath

Positions  Multiple

Salary  €18.05 per hour, plus a 17.75% shift allowance

Contract  Permanent, full time, shift

Permit  Employment permit sponsorship available for the right candidate

About the role

MIG welding of steel components in a busy engineering manufacturing plant, working from drawings and weld procedures on a shift pattern.

What you will be doing

  • MIG welding steel components and assemblies to drawing and weld procedure
  • Setting up and fitting up parts in jigs and fixtures before welding
  • Grinding, preparing and cleaning material before and after welding
  • Checking your own welds and dimensions against the drawing and quality standards
  • Reporting defects or equipment problems to the supervisor
  • Keeping your work area clean, organised and safe
  • Working to the company health and safety procedures and wearing the correct PPE at all times

What you need

  • Proven experience as a MIG welder in a production or fabrication environment
  • Able to read and work from engineering drawings
  • Consistent, good quality welds at production pace
  • Comfortable working a shift pattern
  • Good standard of English, written and spoken

Coded welding and experience in volume manufacturing are an advantage. Candidates trade tested overseas are welcome to apply.
